Data Processing Addendum (DPA)

A governance overlay for data processing—activated when required by contract or applicable law.
This page provides a high-level DPA framework for Beacon Regulatory Services (BRS) LLC (“BRS LLC,” “we,” “us,” “our”). A DPA typically applies only when executed as part of a client engagement and where personal data is processed on behalf of a client. For baseline website practices, see the Privacy Policy.
Effective date: December 17, 2025  • This is a summary page; contractual DPAs are issued as engagement documents.

  • When a DPA applies
A DPA typically applies when BRS LLC processes personal data on behalf of a client as part of delivering contracted services. The DPA is executed as part of the engagement documentation and governs processing instructions, confidentiality, security, and subprocessor usage.
  • Controller/processor roles (typical)
    Depending on the engagement:
    • The client is generally the controller (or “business”) determining purposes and means of processing.
    • BRS LLC is generally the processor (or “service provider”) processing data under documented instructions.

  • Security controls (summary)
Security expectations are addressed in the executed engagement documents. As a baseline, BRS LLC uses a risk-based security posture (see Security Statement), including access control and encryption in transit. Specific client requirements (e.g., approved channels, evidence artifacts) can be scoped into the engagement.
  • Subprocessors
Where subprocessors are used to support service delivery, BRS LLC will apply appropriate contractual controls and oversight. See Subprocessors & Service Providers for general transparency.
  • Data subject requests and assistance
If BRS LLC receives a request related to client-controlled data (e.g., access, deletion), we will route it to the client unless legally prohibited. Engagement-specific support obligations are addressed in the executed DPA and service agreement(s).
